Subj: MIDI file introductions
Date: Sat, 3 Feb 1996 19:06:41 -0500

I forgot to write, regarding the midi files on my anonymous
ftp subdirectory, that in most cases where the clarinet
(or some other solo instrument which might want to participate
in a music-x rehearsal)
starts to play in the first measure, I've added short
introductions (works by Seely and Mozart! 8-) so that
you'll know when to enter. They're all reasonably pleasant
except for the intro to the second movement, the Menuetto,
of Cassazione. It is a bit of a problem knowing when
the intro is going to end and when the French Horn begins.
This is only by way of saying that if you hear something
that doesn't sound like the composer you know and love,
you'll know who to credit. Or blame.
(And MIDI users know how to remove them if they become
intolerable)
