you pose a very interesting question. for my alto, i use a selmer c* and a
vandoren ligature. i may get a rovener ligature, but i'm not sure they
make one to fit an alto clarinet. as for my current equipment, it is a vast
improvement over the stock mouthpiece i started on. while i think the
sound could be improved further, there are not many options available to
me. if i got to use it more, i would not mind the expense of having a
mouthpiece made especially for it and me, but since it sits there most of
the time, i won't bother with the expense just yet.
