If memory serves me correctly, when I was living in Berkeley in the late 60s,
I seem to recall a local Bay Area rock group that consisted of a lead alto
clarinet, rhythm alto clarinet, contra-alto clarinet, and was led by an
pot-smoking basset horn player. For some unknown reason, it was always a
warm-up group -- never a headliner. I think they called themselves Leeson
and the Klarinet Malingerers. Can anyone help me out?
