I personally have a pair of 1939 Boosey & Hawkes instruments which, with
the assistance of a gifted repairer, are still capable of professional use.
The only reason I have for NOT using them is a preference for different
acoustic properties. John Jarvie j.jarvie@-----.nz

Mr. Jarvie (and Klarinetters)---

What are the acoustic properties you "prefer" in the non-English
instruments? I have a B&H 1010
(ca. 1973) I am trying to play at least 1/2 as well as my Boehm (it's not
easy!!!). I would be quite
interested to read what you feel are some of the differences between the
B&H's and other
instruments.
