I am a high school senior clarinet player, and I don't really know much
about upkeep of my instrument besides to keep it well oiled, etc... So what
are the advantages of using orage peels? Do they just make the instrument
smell pretty? How long do they last on average? Are they better than
dampits? Any information on this subject would be greatly appreciated.
Also, I am having reed trouble. When I play in the middle octave
sometines, or slur up by adding the register key (ie. from a low E to a B) I
get a squeaking noise along with the note. Is it just me or is it problems
with the reed? I have been told a couple of times that it could be a reed
problem, but I am not quite sure how to fix it. Any information on this
subject would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Susan
