Dan,
About the first movement of the Stravinsky, When I worked on it
with Russianoff ages ago he talked about how the first movement is
contemplative. I came up with my own personal concept of it as describing
a person contemplating a thought. I think of it a sort of a musical
analogy to Rodin's statue "The Thinker". When I play it I try to envision
little electrical impulses flitting through the gray matter in a brain
with random flashes, etc. How's this bit of fantasy strike you?
