Bravo Dan!!!

I totally agree with your views on the subject matter vs. depth on
this list server. I think there's an inverse relationship here. The more
trite a subject, the more people respond. I haven't caught up on the
Sinfonie Concertante mailing yet - sorry.
On other subjects:
Reeds - I can't figure out why people would go to such risk with
chemicals to save a $1.00 piece of cane. God, throw it out already!! Reed
cane isn't on the extinct list.

Weber Concertos - Growing up I used whatever edition for these
pieces until I studied in Vienna. I was immediately instructed to purchase
the Lienau editions because this is what's used in Vienna and is the most
accurate. I've since looked at and tried to play the Weston edition. The
trouble is I recognize that this might be the most accurate but some of the
changes go against what has been etched into my neural network and can't
get used to the differences. What should I do?

Stravinsky 3 Pieces - How about some insights into the piece. I
know the cat and birds story about the second movement and the impression
of 1920's jazz in the third. Any ideas on the first movement? Also let's
hear some ideas on how people interpret this piece especially the first
movement.
