My 2-year old son, naturally, loves Barney the dinosaur. A little
while back we borrowed a tape from my brother's family, whose kids are
in the post-Barney stage. This tape was "Barney-Live in Concert" or
something like that. During this, the kids all did a song where they
pretended to play different instruments. Of course, they were all
holding the instruments any which way -- holding flutes with both
hands in front, clarinet mouthpieces upside down, etc. I didn't
expect them to play the instruments, I expected them to have a band
play. After all, this was recorded live in a huge auditorium, and
they are making major $$$ off the tape sales. Turns out the "band"
was a guy with a synthesizer, and apparently not a very good one at
that -- all the woodwinds had your typical cheap synthesizer sound.

Of course, I'm not sure what I expected from a purple dinosaur.
