I am an aging retired chemist who likes to play my clarinet for fun and
enjoyment. I am not nor do I intend to be a student of classical
composers and the identifing characteristics that each has in their
style. The following is not meant as a "flame" nor is it malicious in
intent, just as a point of view.

However, I must disagree with the idea that this piece could not
have been written by Mozart! The arguments set forth are all well and
good in their content and premise. But just for the sake of argument,
couldn't it be just possible that even Mozart might just have wanted to
have some fun, break with tradition, try something new, be adventuresome,
etc., etc. The brush that was used to prove that Mozart did not write
this piece was awfully wide and the hoop skirts, steel girders and other
examples of mismatched items do not meet my criteria for logical argument
or discussion. Experimentation in musical form is not necessarily
tightly defined by the time period. I wasn't there, so I certainly can't
say for a fact what was done as a lark or whatever. I respect your
interest and obvious knowledge of the wide spectum of music and clarinets
in particular, but please be aware that just because it isn't written
down and notarized, that something could not have happened. I look
forward to further discussion because it keeps the blood moving and
interest high. Thanks for listening.

Ivan
