An item of interest:
Did anyone hear the story on NPR about the guy from Finland who has developed
a carbon fiber flute? Apparently, right now only the head joints are
available commercially, as there has been one complete instrument produced to
date. The flutes will go into production sometime in the spring. The really
interesting part is that it has no springs! The action is regulated by
opposing magnets.
