The above was sent to the KLARINET list with 53 names appended and while I
think the cause is commendable and one that many of us would support, I
discarded the file because I wasn't sure how we were all supposed to add our
names to the petition. Surely copying the entire file and sending it back to
the list for the next person to add their name while the file got longer by
one name each time and our mailboxes fill up with 200 or more copies of the
same file is not acceptable. Unfortunately, this seems to be precisely what
has started to happen.

I just noticed that someone has already added their name and returned the
petition. Am I missing something obvious? If anyone understands internet
petitions and can shed any light on how they are supposed to work, please
enlighten the rest of us. Thanks.
