Subj: Brahms Sonata Corrections

Excellent posts have appeared concerning the two sonatas, Op.120 by Brahms.
I, and perhaps others, would appreciate more information as to corrections
that appear or don't appear in various editions of the sonatas. This stuff
is much more interesting than what cork grease is made of.

The G. Schirmer (MASTERWORKS FOR CLARINET) and Carl Fischer editions are
ones many younger clarinetists purchase because of price, availability,
and/or teacher/state music educator contest/festival list recommendations.
Perhaps, favorite editions (and why) is another topic of merit to teachers
and students of the clarinet.

Dan Leeson: Are you indicating the corrections to quarter notes in the
Schirmer edition (measure 34 & 35) for the clarinet or for the piano? C.
Fischer and G. Schirmer editions both have consistent "semi-staccato" marks
(slur with dot) in the piano parts only, while the clarinet parts
(corrected?) indicate only the slur (as opposed to the semi-staccato
markings in measures 29 & 30. Your post is clear to me but may not be to
others. I'd love to hear more about this topic from you and others.

and his/her music so as to make intelligent decisions about the performance
