I used to play Olivieris ten years ago, (when I was playing a Pyne
mouthpiece) and the best boxes of reeds I ever had were two big boxes of 25
"untempered" that were already 14 years old when I bought them in about
1988- virtually every one of them was good enough to play in concerts with
a little adjustment. But I haven't had a new box that I liked in ten years
(I haven't bought any for several years now). I now play a P34 on my Rossi
clarinets and I've been using
Barre-Mec reeds for a couple of years, but I just started breaking in a box
of Rico Grand Concert which are more expensive but so far it seems like
they're actually better. (I think they will all play! :-)
