Steve,if there is such a thing as a reed which tends to squeak for some
players and not for others, the Oliveri is it. I played them for a while
years ago when I was trying to wean myself off Vandorens, and some would
squeak and no amount of balancing would make that reed reliable. Other
people, like my friend,doug Cornelsen of the Detroit Symphony, played them
without any problem.
