Subj: Bass clarinet concert

Attention Klarineters, MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!!!!!
On Sunday, March 17, St. Patrick's Day in Manhattan (location being
determined) there will be a concert of a new ensemble featuring 9 bass
clarinets (3 doubling contrabass).

The concert will feature music heard on Harry Spaarnay's CD "Ladder of
Escape" as well as works by bass clarinet virtuoso Michael Lowenstern,
whom some of you may have heard at the Chicago ICS show. Michael will of
course be performing, as will I. Many (if not most) of the prominent New
York free-lance bass clarinetists will also be participating.

A cd is also planned at this time. If you have never heard 6 basses and 3
contras together, I can assure you that it is a unique sound!
