Just to echo your sentiments, I too feel that the Selmer fullness is what I
have required (up to this point in time) in my own full-bodied wind section
(Los Angeles Philharmonic). But last year I tried a new Buffet low C and
felt that the latest model is not only more homogenous sounding, but it may
have a bigger tone as well. Therefore, I am hopeful that there may be a
Buffet in my future. (I should say there is a Buffet in my present too --
for the bulk of the repertoire I'm playing on a Buffet low Eb from the 50's.)

However, Selmer's new model (37) is a very captivating alternative. Though I
have not yet found the right horn for me, the possibilities there are very
strong. With these two new instruments in mind, I'm certain that the level of
quality from which to choose is higher than it has been in some time.

Best regards,

David Howard
