Subj: list of quartets w/strings

Here's a long-promised addition to the list of pieces for clarinet and
string trio:

Paul Hindemith: Variations for Clarinet and Strings, 1932, published by
B. Schott's Soehne, Mainz.

It isn't really clear in my music whether this piece is intended for
clarinet with string trio or chamber orchestra.
In smaller type at the upper left corner, my copy reads, "Ploener
Musiktag D No. 4". (You might realize that the "oe" combination is the
anglicized version of the German o-umlaut, which I don't think I can type
on this keyboard.) Opperman has it listed under this title, as a quartet.
(By the way, Opperman, as old as it is, has a fairly generous listing of
pieces for this combination of instruments; that's Kalmen Opperman,
"Repertory of the Clarinet", 1960, Franco Colombo, New York, page 81)

This is a short piece, 67 measures, not very hard, consisting of a theme
and four variations. I did it on my senior recital 20 years ago.
-----
Can anyone tell me whether Lutoslawski's "Dance Preludes" exists in a
clarinet with orchestra version? My piano version indicates that it
does, but only the piano version is listed in Opperman. Does anyone know
definitively? (Is it rental only?)

Please direct replies to me individually - my account seems rather
unstable, and I may not be getting all the Klarinet postings.
