Mike,

I have not had any bad experiences with the Selmer Signet 100 clarinet.
I recommend the wood Selmer Signet 100 or the Yamaha YCL62 wood clarinet
to my beginning students. I prefer the sound of the Selmer 100 as
opposed to the Yamaha 62 even though I play Yamaha YCL 72's.

The Signet 100 has a fairly even scale and plays easily for the
beginner. Are you basing your opinion on more than one clarinet?

I agree that the Signet Soloist (or is it Signet Special?) is a good
(beginner) clarinet.

Steve.
