I find that when I tap, I tend to look at the conductor *less*, so it's
a habit I've been trying to break in the concert band arena. Any kind
of similar experiences?
My jazz stuff is different-- I go ahead and tap away, it keeps me swinging.
However, I'm usually pretty quiet about it, until I get to a relatively
complex passage, then my leg is swinging like a marathon runner's.
I've been known to damn near dance if I'm standing while playing. Perhaps
I need to apply some of my concert band lessons here also, either that,
or learn to cakewalk in time to the music.
