I used yellow Hermes pads when I repadded my clarinet. My repairman told me
the felt is a little harder than in the standard white ones, and therefore the
pads stay flat longer.
Both my Yamaha A and Buffet Bb came with cork padded register keys from the
factory.
BTW I think replacing the entire upper joint with cork would cause an awfully
stuffy sound :-)
