Louis: I believe the clarinet the repairman showed you was and Ab
sopranino clarinet. This is to my knowledge the smallest memeber of the
clarinet family. The order and pitch for the clarinet family on the
soprano side is:
Ab sopranino
D clarinet
Eb clarinet
C clarinet
Bb clarinet
A clarinet
In order to check this information you might try some of the historical
books on clarinet history i.e The Clarinet by Geoffrey Rendall, The
Clarinet by Oskar Kroll ( the English version unless you speak or read
German).
I hope this answers your question.
