Just wanted to introduce myself. As a former Army musician (clarinet,
sax, flute, and electric bass) for eleven years I found myself surfing
the Net for other musicians and was pleased to find the Clarinettist's
Network. I don't play much anymore but will be reading with interest.

For any of you out there that make your own reeds or have thought about
doing so, I have over 500 reed blanks made from cane we bought in
France in 1977. The blanks are rough cut and shaped using a small
plane. They are ready for final shaping, sanding and then cutting.
The cane was aged prior to our purchase and were cut into blanks back
in 1978 and have been stored ever since. Email me if you have any
interest and I will send you a few.
