Not a dumb question...a good question! I believe that a performers
"concept" of a good sound will eventually take that person to the proper
equipment. Years of good training and listening to various other
performers will help mold that concept. Personally, I play my Bb on a
Pyne mouthpiece that he custom made for me some 28 years ago. (I was his
student at the time. I also BABY it and treat it like gold!) My Eb
mouthpice is an old Kaspar. I love it, also. Are they close in dimensions?
It is likely, but if my Pyne ever ceased, I believe that the "concept"
that I have will lead me in a correct direction...and not a particular
brand name.
