I was able to recover my Bb clarinet with Kaspar mouthpiece -- by calling
music stores until I finally found the one where it had been taken in for
repair. It took me nearly a year to locate it. The serial number was on
their computer. It had been pawned for $40 and purchased by a fellow
musician for $75, who immediately returned it to me when he learned it was
stolen. He got his money back because the pawn shop was in violation of a
regulation regarding selling too soon after purchase. The police were
absolutely no help in finding it. The detective described me as a bull dog
that wouldn't let go! One of the trio of thieves was caught, but I have
not received any compensation for damages.
