My quick answer: No.
Longer explanation: C clarinets are not normally stocked by your usual
music store. This was a large New York City outfit, and not only did they
not have one to try out, but said that none were immediately available
from Leblanc, either. I would have to wait until another production run
was initiated. I got the instrument six months later, in the mail, far
from the store. I was then so relieved to finally have it in my hands
that I could easily overlook any problems. And probably I was less
perceptive about pitch then (a long time ago).
