This is a holiday present for Dan Leeson that I wanted to share with all
of our family on the Klarinet list.

Dan, I believe that you are absolutely right. There are no "dark" or
"bright" sounds on a clarinet.

Over the last year, I have experimented with different clarinets,
mouthpieces, ligatures and reeds. In the end, they all make
the same sound--my sound. It ain't the best, but it's neither dark nor
bright.

I am not the definitive source on anything. I'm sure there are others who
would disagree with this finding. But they don't know what they're
talking about.
