Larry, that was a wonderful and thoughtful posting.

My experience has been that hot dogs don't last. They come and go. There
perceived ego problems are more a manifestation of their insecurity because
inside they know what they are.

But really great players need a big ego too. To put your reputation on
the line night after night, that's tough!! So an ego is needed as part
of that toughness.

Don't worry about hot dogs. They eventually all wind up teaching at
a high school in Montezuma, GA or Winnemucca, NV, or Elephant's Breath, NE
and are never heard of again.
