In issue two (1994) of the Woodwind Quarterly, David Straubinger wrote
an article about his padding methods. The purpose of the article was
to inform repair technicians that encounter his pads, about how to work
with them.

What David is concerned about is unauthorized installation of his pads.
The installation is fairly demanding and he believes the inexperienced
technician may give his pad system a bad name. He understands that
from time to time a repair technician may need to adjust a Straubinger
pad. He gives freely of his expertise in how to go about this.
