David,
I don't know the Lincoln Center parking areas at all so this may sound
naive, but is there no place in the parking system that could be reserved as
artist parking that would either have its own exit or be close enough to the
public exits to at least get performers to the front of the line? This seems,
mundane as it may sound to anyone who doesn't put up with post-concert
traffic as a normal working condition, like something that ought to come up
at the negotiating table. With all the other protections that have been
written into the contracts of major (and even not so major) ensembles over
the decades, I'd think guaranteed parking and reasonable post-concert egress
in a place like NYC would be legitimate bargaining positions.
Just a thought.
