Klarinet Archive - Posting 000460.txt from 1995/12
From: OLIVER SEELY <oliver@-----.EDU> Subj: The Stamitz double concerto Date: Sun, 17 Dec 1995 21:24:40 -0500
It is now on my subdirectory [anonymous.music] in three files
stamdc1.mid;1, stamdc2.mid;2, stamdc3.mid;3. These are
midi files of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd movements writen on
a PC with Master Tracks 4.0 -- I believe that they are
Type 1 midi files.
I don't have the first and second clarinet parts by themselves
in .MUS format. I'll do those sometime next week.
By the way, one of the movements has jumbled tracks. the
piano tracks are 1 and 2 and the clarinet tracks are 3 and
4. Also, I have added a rhythm track on movements 1 and 2
because there are cadenzas without piano accompaniment.
Things will get better as I learn more about what I'm doing
wrong.
The standard info for retrieval follows.

Check out INDEX.TXT;1 to find out what is available in this subdirectory.
I have established a subdirectory, [anonymous.music], on the
VAX to share music files of various formats with friends and
colleagues having like interest.

What I offer so far is a mixed bag. There are .mid (midi) and .mus files
created by IBM compatible Finale 3.0. There are several "text" format
fixed-length-record music files which must first be converted with
programs indicated at the beginning of each file. I have made them
available in this format simply because we don't know yet what will
work the best with most people.
In any case, here is how you go about downloading them.
At your home prompt, type
ftp dhvx20.csudh.edu
Then, login as "anonymous"
Give your e-mail address as the password
Then type
cd music or cd [music] or maybe cd music, one of them is bound to work.
At the ftp> prompt, type dir to look at the names of the
available files.
Also at the ftp> prompt, type binary, to make sure the file will
not be corrupted when it is sent to you.
If you do not know the name of the file you wish to download,
use the following procedure first to download the file
INDEX.TXT;1 (either in ASCII or BINARY format) in order to
find out the identities of the various files available.
Type get
At the Local filename: prompt, type the full name of the file
you wish to download.
At the Remote filename prompt, type anything you want as the
name of the file.
