When I was in college I used to ceremoniously slowly cram the reed between
the glass window and the frame of the practice room door. You could just
hear and feel the cane smashing.

Another good use for bad reeds is to save a few until you are in a really
foul mood and then smash them against a cinderblock wall. This is good as a
group activity.

We would get quite a few fellow players together and make a *sacrifice* to
the reed gods before juries.

Another friend would make hanging sculptures in his dorm room.

You don't think that we had any stress in college do you????
