I am attempting to restore an old wooden clarinet (I forget the name;
starts with an S and sounds German although the clarinet was made in
Paris). The parts are coming off fine and the metal polishes well. I
have info re repadding and recorking. I also have a professionally
restored '39 Selmer to use as a guide to make sure I get all the
pieces back in the right places. All I think I need to know now is
how to clean the wood. It's not especially dirty. 0000 steel wool
takes care of the outside, but I would like to wipe it down and swab
out the bore as well. Any suggestions? I could also use a source for
new tenon rings.
