Re: message posted by Jeff Chan:
In addition, in the summer, there are weeklong workshops where the same
thing happens, only for a longer time period. They may be a little farther
away
(three that I can think of off hand are at Cal State at Humboldt in Arcata,
Ashland Oregon and Boseman Idaho), but they really are a lot of fun. (I
have
been going to Humboldt for over five years now.)

Jeff, I came late to this thread, but it seems that the writer is retired
and over 55, so another option would be the performance Elderhostels. My
first one last summer in Colorado will certainly not be my last. The
people there are friendly and considerate, and there is a range of skill
levels. Unfortunately, I seem to have thrown away my most recent catalog,
but perhaps someone else can furnish an address for Elderhostel.

Please, could you give an address where I can write for information on the
chamber workshops? They look like another good opportunity.

In addition, could someone give me the Internet address (subscription or
whatever) for the double-reed conference? At last summer's Elderhostel, we
needed a couple of bassoonists, and I'd like to try to address that need
before next summer. 8-)
