With regard to auditions strategies, my teacher told me something very
important: you have a weird perception of time during an audition because
you are so nervous. That's why it's important to play things perhaps
*slower* than you think they should be. If you think slower, then maybe
it'll come out at the right tempo.

Also, exaggerate dynamics where possible. You really need to show the
adjudicator "I know what to do!!!" Playing an audition is slightly different
from playing a solo; you really need to show off your scholar.

Take this advice for what it's worth. I'm hardly an authority, but it's what
works for me.
