No!! Mozart wrote the clarinet concerto for Anton Stadler who had invented
an instriment that became known as the bassett clarinet. This instrument
was pitched in A or Bb, it was much longer than the average clarinet of
today, and it played down to low c much like the bass clarinet of today.
