Many thanks to Dan for sharing news of this event with us! This is just
another reason why I should read the New York Times every day, instead of
only on Sunday, as I do now. It's time for a daily subscription.

I agree with Dan that it is an exciting event, and applaud Ken Radnovsky as
well for his innovation. I am not so optomistic, however, that it represents
a vital future for the performance of new music. The project has the
unfortunate flaw of expecting a large number of performers, hopefully
competent professionals, to perform this new work for free AND to pay $250
for the priviledge. I can certainly imagine being willing to do this sort of
thing myself, under the right circumstances, but hardly believe that this
method of promoting music will have a huge following of performers. Nor
should it, in my opinion.

In any case, a question for Dan. Did the article give the date and locations
of the premieres? It would be a great thing to take part in - as an audience
member.

Finally, I believe the adjective form of "saxophone" is "saxophone", as in
"saxophone music", "saxophone reed", etc.
