Daniel,
I don't know if you were subscribed at that time, but this list
had a big ol "discussion" on the idea of a horn getting blown out. I think
more people responded that it is a myth that doesn't happen, but some claimed
stedfast that it happens. If you know how to access the archives you might
want to look that line up.
