I don't have a current Schwann/Opus, but I'd bet the farm that the
Goodman/Copland is still in the catalogue. Another interesting
performance is the first radio broadcast, available on Legend (LGD 122)
with Goodman, clarinet, Fritz Reiner conducting the NBC Symphony.
I'd like to vote for a "split" recording - after all, they're all spliced
to **H** and back, anyway!
I like the smooth beauty of David Shifrin for the opening movement, and
Bill Blount's jazzy "real New Yawk" interpretation of the cadenza and
last mvt on an MHS recording (512336L), Dennis Russel Davies conducting
the Orchestra of St. Luke's. It's got just the right "bite", and isn't
"over-jazzed".
