Try using the Reginald Kell book entitiled: Staccato from the Beginning.
He gives a wonderful explanation on what staccato tonguing is and how it
should be done. As for my own suggestion, try using a "hee" syllable when
articulating. The tongue is supposed to be arched up inside your mouth
much like the position it is in when you are relaxed. Walk around saying
"hee tee tee tee" this should place your tongue near the roof of your mouth
and the tip of your tongue near the tip of the reed. Contact me at the
