Dan Leeson, in reporting about recordings of works for voice with clarinet
obbligato by Dieter Klocker, made the following comments:

>I have spent a modest amount of time trying to find out >where Klocker got
these remarkable arrangements and all >to no avail. I don't know if he wants
to keep the info >secret or is waiting for publication, but not much is
>available about them.

Klocker has recorded many works which are apparently the only known
recordings of apparently unpublished music. I say, "apparently", since I've
done no personal search for information and am reporting the impressions of
others. I can't actually quote any sources as I made no notes and my
memories are now a number of years old.

To the best of my recollection, however, reviews of some of his recordings
(in "Fanfare") implied that Klocker does excellent work in digging out
clarinet literature from archives and personal collections all over Europe.
He then records the works, but does not publish or make copies available, in
essence keeping these discoveries for his personal use. There was no hint,
as far as I can recall, as to his motivation.

For what it is worth, this would seem to confirm the lack of cooperation Dan
experienced in his efforts.
