Hello world,

Recently Francis Firth asked about records from Clarinet Choirs.
I replied with:

There's indeed a CD of the "Walter Boeykens Clarinet Choir".
It's called "From J.S. Bach to J.L. Coeck" and this is the contents:

...

It's a "Rene Gailly Internatonal" production, and on the CD is marked =
"Noblesse, CD87 003" (?)

I did some homework, and I found out that you can get this CD on the =
"Harmonia Mundi" label.
I think it's French, but here are some adresses:
France: Mas de Vert, F-13200 Arles
Belgium: Rue du College 27, B-1050 Bruxelles (Yes, French will do)
Holland: Het Kleine Loo 414u, 2592 CK Den Haag
The CD is "From J.S. Bach to J.L. Coeck", and the id is "RGIP CD87 003"

They have other CD's with Walter Boeykens (Weber, Brahms, Messiaen, =
Stravinsky, Bartok, Berg, Bruch, Wemlynsky, Mozart,
Janacek, Dvorak, Prokofiev, Karchaturion, Krommer, Hoffmeister, Nielsen, =
Schubert, ...).

This brings me to a question of Everett J. Austion:

I have always been a big fan of Walter Boeykens, Francois Daneels and
generally of Belgian musicians. I wonder if you have encountered either =
of
them and whether they might give a lesson to someone travelling through
Belgium. I speak French fluently, but unfortunately not Flemish, though =
I
have some Flemish friends here in the US.

No, I don't have encountered them. I'm not a profesional player, but my =
teacher has followed 8 years clarinet by=20
Walter Boeykens and 5 years bass-clarinet by Jan Guns. Even he hasn't =
seen Boeykens much, he's a very busy men.
Maybe he gives "Master Classes"? (probably). If you're very interested I =
can ask someone.

And finally: thanks again for the replys on my question about Artie Shaw =
concerto. I bought "Personal Best of Artie Shaw" and
it's realy great. The concerto was done for a movie called "Second =
Chorus", somewhere around 1940. Artie Shaw says that he totaly =
improvised his part, this guy was realy crasy those days!

Greetings,

Jan Wilmaers
