There are a few other works in this under-represented genre. Be sure
to investigate Alfred Uhl's Kleines Konzert; quite a fine work by a composer
who also has contributed two excellent volumes of clarinet etudes.

Franz Koringer has a very good trio for this combination also.

Finally, Gordon Jacob's trio is an excellent work that is much enjoyed
by both performers and the audience.

These three aforementioned works, in combination with the Mozart,
Bruch, and Schumann, form the basis of ther repertoire for clarinet,
viola, and piano--a genre begun by Mozart (no works for the same
combination precede his masterpiece).

Stan Geidel
