Many thanks to David Gilman, Janis Brown and Dick Williams who wrote about
Artie Shaw' clarinets in response to my recent inquiry. Here's what I have
so far - which may be of some interest to others.

Shaw played on Selmer K series, BT's (balanced tone) and Buffet clarinets.

Artie Shaw appeared at the International Clarinet Society annual conference
at Oberlin College in 1985. His lecture and showing of a film and playing of
unreleased recordings made by the Hollywood movie studios in the 30s and 40s
was a real eyeopener for me. A great artist!
