I have made numerous enquiries to Yamaha USA about their Oehler model
clarinets and have yet to receive any answer from them, although they
constantly send unsolicited promotional material. I originally saw these
advertised in a German language music journal and was curious about their
characteristics, including bore, pitch, etc. I actually have no intention of
buying one, but thought it would be interesting to learn more, having never
had the occasion to try a German style clarinet, since in the US nearly
everyone uses the R-13 and relatively few other "professional" options are
readily available.
Has anyone else had any info regarding what must presumably be excellent
copies of fine German intsruments?
