Klarinet Archive - Posting 000095.txt from 1995/11
From: OLIVER SEELY <oliver@-----.EDU> Subj: A new midi file Date: Mon, 6 Nov 1995 13:04:39 -0500
I have uploaded a duet for clarinet and cello by
Rick Sowash. It is in my music subdirectory, info
follows. It is an Enigma Transportable file, written
by Finale 3.2. I can't interpret it because I'm still
using Finale 3.0 (at least I think that is the problem).
If anybody downloads it and can listen to it I'd appreciate
you letting me know.
On the von Weber sextet, a correspondent in Australia says
that it comes out garbled. Has anyone downloaded it
successfully?

I have established a subdirectory, [anonymous.music], on the
VAX to share midi files with friends and colleagues of like
interest.
*******
The midi and .mus (Finale) files I have installed are PC based.
Here is how you go about downloading them.
At your home prompt, type
ftp dhvx20.csudh.edu
Then, login as "anonymous"
Give your e-mail address as the password
Then type
cd music
At the ftp> prompt, type dir to look at the names of the
available files.
Also at the ftp> prompt, type binary, to make sure the file will
not be corrupted when it is sent to you.
If you do not know the name of the file you wish to download,
use the following procedure first to download the file
INDEX.TXT;1 (either in ASCII or BINARY format) in order to
find out the identities of the various files available.
Type get
At the Local filename: prompt, type the full name of the file
you wish to download.
At the Remote filename prompt, type anything you want as the
name of the file.
