Sorry, I was too quick to reply to the message below, and made an error.
The instrumentation of the St. Saens IS Flute, Oboe, Clarinet and Piano.
Still, the piano part is not an accompaniment, so the work is a *quartet*.

There is such a work. However, the piano part is integral to the
ensemble, not an accompaniment. So, I would call it a trio.
