I think it is a bad idea for a teacher to be placed in the position of
having to judge his/her own student(s). It also places the student in a bad
position. If the student places well, the teacher and student open
themselves up to allegations that the teachers showed favoritism for
his/her student. Who needs that? Even if the audition is fair, the
perception of unfairness can cause a big headache for good people.
