I am interested to know if anyone has any comments based on personal
experience regarding the usefulness or lack of usefulness of a reed adjusting
device called "The Reed Wizard". Does it really do anything better than one
would do with sand paper, reed knife, et al? Does it work with all sized
single reeds (various clarinets and saxes)? Is it worth $300? I have read
the available promotional literature, but remain unconvinced, since the
assertions seem largely unsupported, and I have not had the opportunity to
try it myself.
It would be nice, however, if such a device could make commercial reeds more
consistent and make the balancing process quicker and more "scientific".

Sincerely,

Everett Austin
