I am afraid I have been guilty of really deplorable manners. After
spending a few weeks over August and September quietly lurking on Klarinet, I
began posting without having introduced myself to the other list members. I
apologize. What follows is a short self-introduction.
I am a free-lance clarinetist (I double on sax occasionally) in the
Philadelphia area. I make most of my living teaching instrumental music in a
public elementary school in the Neshaminy School District in a Philadelphia
suburb. My principal teacher when I studied at Temple University in the 60's
and 70's was Anthony Gigliotti. I played for three years in the U.S. Army
Field Band. By evenings and weekends I play mostly symphony work and pit work
and teach private clarinet students, although I have been recently doing a
little more commercial work involving sax.
Sorry for my bad manners. I think this list is a wonderful, positive place
to correspond and I've completely enjoyed the chance to participate in it
both as lurker and then as poster.
