I have only recently become connected to internet and joined klarinet. I
have found the discussions extremely interesting and useful. I want to
thank those of you who are so willing to share your knowledge and experience.
For example I am considering the purchase of a basset horn and or a bass
clarinet and would not be able to access the information you have
provided me with about these instruments any other way.

I would now like to make my contribution:

Is any one interested in music written for clarinet by Australian
composers ? We have a number of composers whose music the clarinet
community here enjoys and I propose to provide a list of these with
descriptions and publishers. In some cases of course the music has not
been published. We have an organisation called the Australian Music
Centre in Sydney which specialises in collecting any music by
Australians. They have a library and for $20/year you can borrow any of
there holdings for the cost of the postage. I have tried most of their
clarinet music so I am familiar with it.

It has occurred to me that I might be able to get permission from the
composer in some cases to scan it into midi format and make it available for
down loading to klarinet subscibers.

I would be interested to know how well known if at all these composers
have been heard of outside of this country.
